Don a former Roman Catholic altar boy, was in 1981 captured and transformed by Christ. He has a love for Bible preaching and teaching that changes lives by the power of God. Don has been involved in Bible Studies in various settings from homes to organized seminars retreats. In the early 1980s, his home was available for a small growing house church.

In 1992 Don became active at Gibbons United Methodist Church. There he became a Lay Speaker, a Certified Lay Speaker, and Elder. It was here that Don began the path towards becoming a Pastor.

Since 1996 Don left his employment and began working full time in church ministry. Don start as the Minister of Christian Education for Gibbons United Methodist Church, Resurrection Prayer Worship Center and later Ark of safety Christian Church. As such he was responsible for programming for the Sunday School Department; development of new members classes and curriculum. Later he was responsible for organizing the Ark of Safety Christian Bible College.

 In 1993 Don developed and organized the church’s first couples enrichment seminars. Later this grew into  designing and conducting marriage related seminars, workshops and various training events for both couples and singles at churches in the USA and abroad.

Don organized The Marriage Workshop®, a Christ Centered marriage enrichment ministry registered in the State of Maryland. This ministry is focused on premarital training, marriage enrichment retreats, workshops, seminars,  and private individual marriage counseling. The Marriage Workshop® is designed to  help  couples work on  their marriage according to God’s blueprint with the goal of bringing glory to God through their marriage. Don and his wife Catherine published their first marriage training manual and tape series “The Fine Art of Marriage: When Two Become One”.

 In 2000, Don became the organizing pastor/teacher of Christ’s Church located in Waldorf, Maryland. The church seeks to put back the broken pieces of peoples’ lives through the Word Of God.  Christ’s Church is a family focused congregation where strong family development is sought and taught. Persons are being equipped in many areas of ministry under the Lord Jesus Christ to reach out to individuals and couples in need. The Lord is doing great things in the lives of individuals and couples as He restores marriages and homes, and makes  them strong.  

Don also provides leadership development training and consultation. He has been named in the Who’s Who Among Outstanding Business Executives and in the Who’s Who among Leading Young Americans. Don is the past Executive Director of the Maryland Rural Development Corporation; the first Executive Director of the St. Mary’s County Housing Authority; a former President of the Maryland Association of Community Action Agencies.

Don is married to Catherine B. Curtis. They are the proud parents of Juanita Kelsaw, Dereck Curtis and Chandra Curtis. They have one son in-law, Geoffrey; a daughter in-law, Adriana and three grandsons and one granddaughter.
